We are not a virtual school. We are a cause

Mavir School exists to close the education gap in Latin America: to give every student in the region an education that lets them compete, on equal terms, with children in the developed world.

An education that is relevant, emotionally safe and connected to the future.

From a small school to an international community

The vision was born in 1971 with the Everyone Is Touched Foundation, dedicated to bringing education and hope to those who need it most. In 1982 it took shape as a school, with just 90 students and a clear influence: the Finnish model.

International expansion came in 2012 with a second campus in Florida, consolidating the foundation in the U.S. (E.O.T. Foundation) under the legal name Monte Ararat School. In 2019, the arrival of Dr. Richard Herela as director for Latin America marked the shift toward a virtual, accessible educational model of international quality. In 2021 the project was consolidated as Mavir School.

Since then, Mavir has grown steadily across the region, with virtual campuses, more than 1,000 students and an international team committed to educating global citizens. A new education for a new generation. That is our story, and it is just beginning.

Democratizing international education

We don’t just teach content: we shape people capable of leading, adapting and thriving in a global and uncertain world. Our purpose is clear: that every student, wherever they live, has the tools to build a life of meaning, success and purpose.

Mission

To give Latin American students the same educational opportunities as young people in the developed world, through an innovative model with international certification that develops the key skills to thrive in the technological society of the future: critical thinking, English proficiency, digital literacy, emotional intelligence and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Vision

To become the leading educational institution in Latin America for closing the gap between traditional education and the demands of the modern world, empowering a new generation of students with the opportunities, tools and skills to lead, innovate and transform their surroundings.

Dr. Richard Orlando Herela González

General Director of Mavir School. Founding entrepreneur. Doctorate in Banking and Finance.

With more than three decades of international experience in banking, investment and real estate development in the United States, Mexico, London and other countries, Dr. Herela built and led companies in some of the most competitive markets in the world.

In 2019 he came out of early retirement for one reason: his young daughter, born in Latin America, would not have the same opportunities as her siblings born in the United States. When the world faced the education crisis of 2020, he understood that what he would do for his daughter he had to do for every Latin American child who deserved a world-class education. That is how Mavir School was born.

More than a classroom. A safe space

Through the 50% Lifetime Scholarship, thousands of families have accessed a quality education without money being the barrier. Mavir has been a safe space for migrant families, children who faced bullying, students with special needs and students with exceptional talents.

More than a school, we are a cause that changes lives.
